MHFA_Logo_Horizontal

Take part in MHANYS’ Capital Region Project AWARE. This project will provide NO-COST training to target audiences such as Specialty Care Providers. Future audiences include individuals who interact/work with armed services personnel, veterans, and their families; and Emergency Services Personnel. MHANYS will train these individuals over the next three years across these four counties Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady.

Become a Certified Mental Health First Aider!

You are more likely to encounter someone — friend, family member, coworker, neighbor, or member of the community — in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Mental Health First Aid teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care. Anyone can take the Mental Health First Aid course — first responders, students, teachers, leaders of faith communities, human resources professionals, and caring citizens.

The adult Mental Health First Aid course is appropriate for anyone who wants to learn how to help an individual who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or concern. SOMETIMES, THE BEST FIRST AID IS YOU. Take the course, save a life, strengthen your community.
