Throughout New York State, hundreds of thousands of teachers, police officers, firefighters, governmental officials, and others are enrolled in a pension system designed to reward them for careers dedicated to serving their communities. As you well know, a career with a pension can be an enticing proposition. Too many of our great employees leave the human services sector because they (understandably!) want the long-term stability of a job with a pension.
What if organizations like ours could offer something similar? Our colleagues and advocacy partners at the Mental Health Association in New York State (MHANYS) have developed a survey to gauge statewide interest in such a benefit for the nonprofit human services sector. They’re hoping to collect tens of thousands of replies to demonstrate to our elected officials that introducing pensions to our sector would help us find and keep employees throughout their whole careers.
We’re asking everyone to fill out their brief survey before January 4, 2024.
It may be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5NCVD3Q.
Thank you in advance for helping this hugely important advocacy effort. |
