As state budget negotiations get underway, behavioral health and human services rallied this week at the State Capitol to urge a flexible targeted inflationary increase (formerly known as the COLA) of 4%.
This investment is critical to sustaining community-based programs and supporting the workforce amidst rising costs and ongoing recruitment and retention challenges.
We thank Sen. Webb, Sen. Tedisco, Asm. Hooks, Asm. O’Pharrow, Asm. Steck, and Asm. Smullen for stopping by to show their support.
The rallies included representatives from The Alliance for Rights and Recovery, Association for Community Living, MHANYS, NAMI New York State, Northern Rivers Family of Services, Council of Family and Child Caring Agencies, and InUnity Alliance.
The rallies will continue until the final budget is passed!
“For every obstacle there is a solution. Persistence is the key. The greatest mistake is giving up”.
– Dwight Eisenhower
