MH Update – 7/30/20 – Update: In-Person Visitation to OMH Psychiatric Centers

In-person visitation will be resumed at New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) Psychiatric Centers located in regions that have entered Phase Four of the New York State phased reopening plan by August 3rd, 2020.

All visitation will be by appointment only and subject to the procedures outlined in OMH’s Updated Psychiatric Center Visitation Policy, available here: https://omh.ny.gov/omhweb/guidance/covid-19-updated-omh-pc-visitation-policy.pdf. Visitors are asked to contact the Psychiatric Center prior to their visit to make an appointment. Psychiatric Center contact information is available, here: https://omh.ny.gov/omhweb/aboutomh/omh_facility.html.

To ensure the health and safety of patients, visitors and staff, OMH has developed a comprehensive visitation policy and screening process for all visitors entering our Psychiatric Centers, as referenced above. Visitors to OMH Psychiatric Centers will also notice changes within the facility, including hand sanitizer stations, new social distancing directions and signage, and modification of seating arrangements and materials in waiting areas.  These policies and measures have been put in place to protect visitor health and the health of our patients and staff.

OMH extends its sincerest gratitude to the people we serve and their families, friends, and loved ones for their support and understanding during these challenging times.
