Earlier today, we sent out a ‘top of the trees’ look at how OMH was
strategically beginning to target some of the FMAP/Block Grant Funding.
This attached document provides greater clarity around how OMH plans to
utilize some of the initial funding.
We are pleased that several areas MHANYS and many of our colleagues have
identified as priority are reflected in this document.
Among the highlights include:
Workforce:
Engage in recruitment and retention of culturally competent mental health
workforce
Work with Institutes of Higher Education to foster development of future
workforce
Expand and emphasize peer support capacity
Youth Services:
Comprehensive Crisis Services
School Based and College Based Mental Health Capacity
Screening and Early Identification
Funding Youth ACT
Crisis Services:
Greater emphasis on 988 Resources
Funding for Crisis Stabilization Centers
Mobil Crisis Teams Outreach and Expansion
Crisis Residence Start Up and Expansion
Corrections:
Jail Diversion Programs
CIT
