06/1/2022 – Senate Passes Mental Health Public Awareness Workforce Bill

The NYS Senate passed S.7577. This bill is dedicated to providing information to employers and employees across New York State about mental health awareness and support. It is a common sense response to the overwhelming mental health issues that have occurred because of COVID. We thank Senate Mental Hygiene Chair, Samra Brouk, for her leadership in the bill’s passage. It is currently in the Ways and Means Committee in the Assembly (A.8675). We urge support for amending the bill and passing a ‘same as’ bill in their house. The Assembly have been among our strongest leaders in mental health public awareness and there are few things more important than having New York State’s workforce better educated about mental health.Follow Me on Twitter @MHANYSCEO
