In This Difficult Time
WE STAND TOGETHER IN OUR GRIEF
We were shocked and saddened by Saturday’s tragedy on Buffalo’s Eastside. Our thoughts continue to be with the victims’ families and surrounding community. This is a difficult and painful time. The collective trauma of this shooting will impact our community for days, weeks and months to come.
This senseless act of violence against our black community is devastating. Hate has no place in our community, and MHA will continue to stand with others to create a culture of anti-racism and inclusivity. At MHA, we believe in love and compassion.
Over the weekend MHA staff provided support at the mental health resource center on Jefferson Avenue in the aftermath of the Tops shooting. Trauma counseling will be available at 1100 Jefferson Avenue from 1pm-9pm through May 26th. It is free with no appointment necessary.
If you or someone you know is in need of additional resources or referrals, MHA Information & Referral Specialists are available at 716-886-1242,
Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.
We are experiencing so many emotions…anger, fear, grief, exhaustion. As we come together as a community, it is important that we hold each other, cry together, and stand with each other in our grief.
Please take care of yourselves. We are here.
