Over the last two weeks, over two thousand women in the not for profit human services sector have sent letters to the Governor urging his support for a funding increase for this sector. With over 81% of the human service sector comprised of women, this is clearly a social justice and women’s issue. As MHANYS Board Chair, Ellen Pendegar said in the article, the Governor has been a real leader in support of women’s rights and supporting a 2.9% across the board human services COLA will continue to showcase New York as a national leader.
