Behavioral Health advocates are working together to urge the Governor to support the movement to ensure that the behavioral health workforce is defined as part of the ‘Health Care Workers in Patient Care Settings’ in Phase 1 of the State Vaccine Distribution Phase and Priority list.
Over the next few weeks, there will be a series of actions by advocates to insure that the dedicated behavioral health workforce is clearly defined as a Phase 1 health care worker. The increased need for mental health and addiction services during this Pandemic highlights that our workforce is even more directly engaged with individuals with behavioral health needs on a daily basis underscoring the need for this workforce to be part of Phase 1.
