MH Update – 1/6/21 – Welcoming Senator Samra Brouk as New Senate Mental Hygiene Chair
Yesterday, the New York State Senate announced their committee chairs for the 2021 Legislative Session. Samra Brouk from Rochester was named as the new Mental Hygiene Chair. She has an impressive resume and we look forward to working with her in the future.
I also want to acknowledge the work of former Senate Mental Hygiene Chair, David Carlucci. He was a staunch advocate and friend around issues of mental health. Whether it was CIT, mental health in schools, workforce, Dwyer funding, Mental Health First Aid and a myriad of other issues—he was always very supportive and a voice of intelligence and compassion.
