Listed below is a letter that we sent today to Governor Hochul, calling on her to help support the migrant population with work and skills training in mental health services and support. It is a win win for New Yorkers. The new migrant population becomes trained in the field and can move out of poverty and, simultaneously, it helps respond to our mental health workforce crisis by providing a new cadre of mental health workers. When the appropriate federal authorization for expedited workforce comes to fruition, we urge support for this next generation of mental health workforce.
