Behavioral Health Advocates Advocacy Call for Next Year’s Budget

MHANYS is part of a group of a dozen statewide behavioral health advocates. We have come together in support of community mental health and the workforce.   As we gear up for 2024, we wanted to identify our priorities as a group.  While we are advocating for a COLA of 3.2% (this year’s CPI), we are also advocating for an additional $500 million in flexible funding in the budget for behavioral health. We are also providing the rational as to why we need this funding and COLA to provide for the holes in our service system and the years of neglect.
