The dinner is always full of wonderful and compelling stories and serves as a true recognition of those who work tirelessly to help individuals living with mental health challenges in New York State. It is a special night where individuals are recognized for their innovative and dedicated work. It is an event that is not to be missed.

Living Behind the Mask: African American Men and Mental Health

Stigma is a major factor in keeping people from seeking help for their mental health. And when it comes to African American men, this is even more pronounced. Because of cultural issues, many black men think that it is necessary to keep their guard up and not reveal how they are really feeling and it’s a sign of being weak. This webinar will explore these topics as well as some of the innovative approaches that are being utilized to reach out to African American men to support their emotional and mental wellbeing. As the 2024 Summer Olympics came to a close, it was hard not to notice the increased attention to mental health in sports, whether it is Simone Biles in the gym, Caeleb Dressler in the pool, or Noah Lyles on the track. We believe all athletes, regardless of age or skill level, must prioritize their mental health just as they do their physical health. D&G Wellness is excited to share best practices for supporting your athlete’s mental health on and off the field. Participants will leave the webinar feeling inspired and armed with the knowledge and skills to support the athletes in their lives..

No-Cost Youth and Teen Mental Health First Aid Training for Schools and Community Organizations

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.
