*We are very lucky in the Capital District of New York to have a member of
Congress who is so vested in mental health in Paul Tonko. He has used his
expertise from his days in the Assembly in fighting for Timothy’s Law to
become an outspoken supporter in Congress for mental health services and
supports. Several of the positive changes that were part of the Murphy bill
in the House of Representatives are a direct reflection of his internal
advocacy.*

*On, August 3rd Congressman Tonko is holding a mental health summit in
Albany. It is a great opportunity to hear about what is happening
nationally but also to discuss New York’s mental health system and the
concerns that many of us have in regard to housing, workforce, stigma and
other relevant issues.*
