Yesterday, when I sent out this note about the origins of 988, I got this response back from Giselle Stolper, former director of the MHA-NYC and one of the visionaries behind the lifeline.Thank you Glenn for your very kind words. I just want to add that the vision of NSPL and implementation of 988 would never have happened without the incredible leadership of John Draper, Executive Director of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline who has been with MHA-NYC/Vibrant since 1995 and today is a noted leader nationally and internationally on suicide prevention.
