Many mental health clinicians are shifting to telehealth to provide essential services during the COVID-19 outbreak in New York State. The attached guidance document provides telehealth tips for mental health clinicians working with suicidal clients, including recommendations on how to develop a clinical management plan and adaptations for conducting comprehensive suicide risk assessment and safety planning in a telehealth setting. It was developed by the Suicide Prevention Training, Implement, and Evaluation group at the Center for Practice Innovations at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute.
