Senate sends far-ranging medical cures bill to Obama’s desk

The Senate on Wednesday cleared a $4.8 billion bipartisan bill to advance
medical cures, the biggest healthcare package to pass Congress since
ObamaCare.

The bill has been trumpeted by leaders from both parties of the aisle for
its focus on life-saving research, including nearly $2 billion for Vice
President Biden’s cancer “moonshot.” President Obama could sign the bill as
soon as Thursday.
