Mental Health Matters Day is March 13th, 2019

The Mental Health Association in New York State, Inc. (MHANYS) is sponsoring its annual day-long legislative advocacy event on March 13th, 2019. Historically, this event, called “Mental Health Matters Day” has been a critical component of our advocacy efforts leading to significant changes in the mental health landscape, such as the inclusion of mental health education in schools, mental health parity, and the creation of a tax check-off option and a license plate to promote anti-stigma funding efforts across NYS.

Student groups able to travel to Albany will:

· Learn about important non-partisan issues related to mental health policy

· Meet with local legislative representatives

· Have access to materials in preparation for the event

· Receive a free Mental Health Matters t-shirt

· Enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast

Student groups not able to travel to Albany can:

· Learn about important non-partisan issues related to mental health policy

· Send letters to legislative representatives

· Meet with local legislative staff in your district
