Building Connections Invites Community Inter-Faith Leaders & Service Providers partnering with families to participate in a seminar:

Healed People Heal Communities: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Family & Community Wellness

Come share and learn from each other about recognizing the signs of traumatic stress and explore effective approaches that will support families and communities with complex histories of traumatic stress and loss.
Objectives for the seminar include:

  • A presentation on a trauma-informed approach for identifying coping skills and behaviors derived as a result from traumatic stress and loss.
  • A panel discussion from inter-faith leaders and service providers partnering with families & communities experiencing traumatic stressors; acknowledging challenges while creating possibilities for healing.
  • Group exercises that focus on cultural specific perceptions of what defines mental health and illness.

The seminar will welcome participant participation and open mic.
