Webinar: Addressing Cultural Concerns among Immigrants, Refugees, & Undocumented Immigrants

May 2, 2018 - at 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

It is more important than ever to address the mental health concerns of immigrants.

· 1 in 5 New Yorkers is an immigrant.
· 1 in 4 children have at least one immigrant parent.
· New York is the top 3rd refugee resettlement state, with 94% of NY refugees resettled in upstate counties.
· Over 1 million New Yorkers live with at least one family member who is undocumented.

Participants will learn about the immigrants, refugees, and undocumented immigrants in our New York communities. The webinar will explore the acculturation process experienced by immigrants and its influence on mental health; as well as experienced barriers to service and challenges during care. Cultural competence approaches will be explored.

Space limited to first 100 registrants.
