Brandon Beachamp

Brandon, Ed.M., LMHC, (he/him/his) came to MHANYS in June 2021 from our affiliate in Rockland County where, for over 7 years, he worked in a variety of direct care, supervisory and director roles. He is passionate about life-long learning and fostering a spirit collaboration and creativity. In his role at MHANYS, Brandon oversees the Resource Center’s work with schools, families and community partners. Brandon is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and holds an M.A. and Ed.M. from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Brandon enjoys hiking, time with his dogs, gardening, reading murder mystery books and British TV.

Susan Fisher

Susan (she/her/hers) is an Associate Director at Nassau Region PTA and Resolutions Coordinator for New York State PTA, where she sits on the NYS PTA Mental Health Task Force. She has planned regional and statewide legislative conferences bringing together members, education stakeholders, and legislators to discuss school, youth, and education issues. She is a former educator and taught Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Science.

Susan loves her Peloton! She also cooks, bakes, and spends time with her two sons and husband.

Tharaha Thavakumar-Slavin

Tharaha, MSM MA MFT, (she/her/hers) has been with MHANYS since February 2023. She is a Marriage and Family Therapist and is also working on her Doctorate in Gender and Sexual Fluidity. She supports the School Mental Health Resource Training Center with Family Education and Engagement focused on their webinars, training, workshops, and more.

Tharaha loves spending time with family and dog, enjoys reading, listening to music, Zumba and cleaning!

Stephanie Sullivan
