How to Create a Wellness Board

You may have heard of something called a vision board. Possibly made one yourself..? Vision boards are a collection of pictures, quotes, and anything else that bring inspiration and motivation to whatever it is your are pursuing. Vision boards can be made for future goals, or specific life events like weddings, home buying, or planning your dream vacation. Inspired by this idea, we created a wellness board! Use this as your own wellness tool. Great to incorporate it into daily mindful break, or for use during times to reset. 

To get started, simply grab:

  • A pair of scissors 
  • Old magazine’s or other old literature 
  • Markers, pens, pencils
  • Glue, tape, or some type of adhesive
  • A large poster board 

What to add to your Wellness Board:

Sayings and Phrases

  • Encouraging mantras  
  • Positive affirmations
  • Uplifting musical lyrics
  • Quotes from books, or inspirational people

Inspiring Imagery

  • Pictures of family, friends, and pets
  • Places that bring a sense of calmness- like a beach, or other nature settings. 
  • Symbols, flags, or other serene designs 
  • Paintings, drawings, and other peaceful illustrations 

Wellness Strategies 

  • Guided imagery of slow breathing
  • Depictions of numbers to count
  • Representation of other useful coping strategies 

Use this when: 

  • You need to take a mental break
  • When your feeling overwhelmed 
  • When you need to reset 

This is also a great tool to work into other wellness exercises you already do throughout the day like, mindful breathing or grounding exercises. Great activity for in the classroom, at home, or in the park!
